- Sun protection
If you are running away from the signs of aging then probably you need to run away from the sun too. Sun can do a lot of damage to your skin and can result in age spots, wrinkles, and other skin related problems that make the skin look older and accelerates the process of aging.
There are three things that you can do to protect your skin from the harmful sun rays. Always apply sunscreen lotions before you go out in the day time. Two, try to walk in shade than walking directly under the sun. Three, keep a scarf handy in your purse so that you can use it to cover up the sun exposed parts of the body.
- Do not smoke
Smoking is another important aspect of the lifestyle habits that lead makes the skin older and can even cause wrinkles. The tiny blood vessels in the upper layer of the skin are narrowed through smoking and that can lead to lack of oxygen and nutrients in the skin leading the signs of aging to appear on the skin. Hence, try to quit smoking or at least reduce your habit.
- Be gentle to your skin
Do not bath for too long, especially during the winters. That is because long showers and warm water can remove the needed oil from the skin making it dry. Remember dry skin is prone to the signs of aging. Also, avoid strong soaps for the same reason instead you can go for moisturizing and mild soaps and body wash.
Pat your skin with a towel after the shower, do not rub it so that moisture remains intact to the skin. Also, moisturize your skin at least once daily.
- Eat healthy and stay hydrated
Eat health and unprocessed food items like vegetables, fruits and whole grains. Eat more of vitamin C because it is low in fat and refined carbohydrates, and can also make your skin look younger.
Hydration is really necessary for the skin to keep it soft, supper and also to maintain the elasticity of the skin. Therefore, try to keep drink as much water you can. Keep extra care of your water intake during winters. You should drink at least 10 glasses of water in a day. One trick is to drink water every time you urinate. This habit can enhance your water intake.
- Manage stress
Stress can damage your body as a whole. Stress has a great impact on the skin. It can make your skin sensitive and trigger acne and other skin problems as well. To manage stress, try to meditate for at least 20 minutes in a day. It is even better if you can do it in the morning after or before exercising.
