Androgens over stimulates the oil glands and that in turn alters the regenerating process of skin.

Oral contraceptive pills are considered to be one of the helpful hormonal acne treatments. In fact there are some of the oral contraceptive pills that have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration of US to be used as a medication in hormonal acne. It is always advisable to refer to a doctor to take some advice on whether you should take these pills or not. Otherwise keeping the skin clean and avoiding oily food, drinking at least 8 glasses of water in day are some of the precautions that you need to take so the acne does not aggravte.

Some tips for hormonal acne-

In any type of acne, you should keep your face clean. Wash your face at least twice in a day with a cleanser. It is even better to have an acne cleanser. Due to the acne, the skin is really sensitive, so do not use any harsh products on the skin. Do not user a scrub at all for the acne affected area. It will only spread the acne by causing inflammation to nearby parts of the skin. Use the medications that are prescribed by the doctor, in the manner told.

Remember, there is no quick fix for acne which will help you get rid of it in a day. Getting rid of the acne requires time and patience. You need to religiously adhere to the prescribed treatment by the doctor and also you need to be patient enough to wait for the results.
