Acne is the biggest problem that most of the people go through especially during puberty when a lot hormonal change takes place. It is really hard to find the real reason or the specific one for the cause of acne. There are food items that can trigger acne. So you must know what not to eat before you should know what to eat during acne. Also, it is said that if topical acne treatments do not work then you need to change your eating habits. Acne definitely has a connection with the diet.
- Dairy products
Avoid all those food items that have oil. Cutting on oil in the diet can help you in improvinmg the acne and probably stopping from further growth. Dairy products like milk, curd etc accelerates the production of oil in the body and hence they can worsen the condition of your acne problem. Cow mil or products that are made of cow milk should be avoided. You can have almond milk, coconut milk, or hemp milk instead.
Sugar is said to be a pro-inflammatory product and acne is can increase due to skin inflammation. Other than that, sugar is also responsible to increase the oil production in the body. So honey, sugar syrups, sugar cane etc should be avoided. Do not consume sweeteners or perhaps reduce the amount you are currently using. You can eat fruits as an alternative so that you do not give up at sweetness at all.
Tofu and other soy foods are responsible for the acne near the mouth and jaw line area. Estrogens that are found in the soy are the basic cause for it. Soy is found in almost everything such as Veg burgers or energy bars. So before you eat or purchase something, read the ingredients and avoid soy based food items.
Wheat also causes inflammation. If you want to get rid of acne, you need to get rid of inflammation first. Also, some of the breads have sugar, soybean oil, and dairy ingredients. So avoid eating breads when you have acne.
- Coconut Oil
Coconut oil not only clogs the skin pores but it can even cause skin inflammation. Hence, coconut oil should be avoided for acne problems especially at the jaw line and cheek region.
Peanut have androgen that can lead to sebum production and hence worsen the acne problem. Instead of the peanuts, you can eat almonds and cashews because they don’t have androgen.
So avoid eating dairy products, peanuts, coconut oil, brad and soy in your food and instead try to eat more of fresh and whole foods such as fruits, vegetables, proteins, healthy fats, and gluten free grains.
